Program Overview
As a kindergarten through 5th grade public focus school, we are held accountable to the standards and achievement goals for the Boulder Valley School District. Our students and families benefit from the wealth of special services and resources offered through the district.
Class size is maintained at approximately 23:1 for K, 25:1 for 1st, 26:1 for 2/3 and 28:1 for 4/5. The classroom teachers integrate art, drama, music, and movement into their curriculum throughout the school day.
Meaningful community
A deeply connected school environment where families know one another, engaging together through regular events and celebrations creating a strong sense of community and belonging.
Arts-integration
Aiming to support all learners through artistic disciplines such as story, drama and visual arts - BCSIS students construct and demonstrate sound academic understanding, connecting academics and a passion for learning.
Low tech
Tech is slowly introduced and used thoughtfully, encouraging students to spend more time creating, collaborating and engaging in hands-on, real world learning.
Strong academics
Students build confidence and skills that translate into top district and state scores, with BCSIS earning “exceeds” in achievement and growth and a 99.3 performance rating.
Whole-child learning
